Ritz Cracker Pizzas -- Day 331

As you can tell from this photo, my Mom loves to cook! :) Just kidding! She doesn't really has been missing having her cooks at home. Usually we girls do the cooking, but since we've all been working a lot, that leaves the making of supper to Mom and the boys. :) But I'm not complaining in the least, I love mini pizzas!

Empty Aisle -- Day 330

The busy time has begun! My Dad is the manager for the shipping warehouse of a local/online business that sells die-cast models. Every Christmas season my sisters and I get temporary jobs to help out. :) I took this photo at the end of the day. This aisle was packed with boxes to be stocked on the shelves the day before yesterday. Now it is clean and easy to walk down. We'll see how long it lasts though, these toys just keep going out which means more need to be brought in. And stocking shelves isn't always first priority when there are orders to pull and ship. :D

Christmas Taffy -- Day 329

We visited the chocolate factory today. I should have taken more photos, but the light was low so this is the best one of the three that I took. :) Maybe I'll go back sometime. :) It was looking Christmasy in there and smelled like chocolate. I wish I could capture smells on camera. :)

Bokeh Lights -- Day 328 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....." Thanksgiving Day is over and now it's time to get into the Christmas spirit. :) When I got home from work today (part of the Christmas spirit around here includes working with Dad in the warehouse shipping die-cast models all over the world) Hannah had Christmas music playing and across the street the neighbors had decorated their outside Christmas tree. So I decided to feature the lights on the tree on my blog. I liked how this bokeh shot turned out.

Custom Made "Fingergrip Lamb" Knife -- Day 327

My brother Daniel is really getting into his knife making. He whipped this fancy thing out in a day or so! He Custom made it for a friend and named it the "Fingergrip Lamb" (Lamb is the last name of the friend who inspired it). Anyone want to buy a hand crafted knife for a friend or family member this Christmas? Daniel is going into the business. :D

Thanksgiving Decor -- Day 326

Here is how we decorated for Thanksgiving this year. I got ideas online and it was simple and quick. :)

Recorder Practice -- Day 325

I've been trying to learn the recorder. I've never learned to read music, so I'm learning that in the process. Tonight I had no ideas of to take a photo of. I took this just before heading to bed. It wasn't an easy task! Have you ever tried to take a photo when you have to hold something for the photo and hold the camera and push the shutter button? I put to use my human duopod sister, Abbie. :) My tripod couldn't hold the camera if the correct position for a photo that was from the players viewpoint. :) So Abbie held my camera for me and I used my shutter release cable to push the button and then put my hand back in position and waited for the timer to snap the pictures. :)

Apple Pie in the Making -- Day 324

Pie making time has begun! Yummy!

Fence Post -- Day 323 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

I shot this fence post after work today. My Dad works in a shipping warehouse and I'll be working there part time through the Christmas season. The warehouses are located on the owner's land in the country. Makes for some pretty places to take photos. :D

Swinging High -- Day 322

Our friends down the road have a great swing! And a huge leaf pile! Today we went down to collect the leaves to pile on our garden, but before bagging them up we jumped in them. We had a great time and the boys did all kinds of fun stunts. Here Luke and Daniel are riding the swing. Daniel is getting ready to fly into the leaf pile.

Old Coins -- Day 321

We had some friends stop by for a visit today. Nathan is a coin collector and showed us some of his collection. These are a few that I found interesting. I wish I could remember the stories behind them, but I guess a photo will just have to do. The oldest coin in this photo is the small one with a lion on it. They used to use a punch to press the metal into the mold. On this particular coin you could see the marks from the punch on the reverse side.

Craftsman -- Day 320

Craftsman at work. Yesterday I posted a photo of my brother's "knife handles" and today he was cutting coasters from mulberry wood. I think he's taking advantage of the saw we borrowed for some other projects around the house. :)

Little Logs -- Day 319

My brother Daniel is a knife craftsman and today I took a photo of some of his future knife handles. They aren't all that artistic yet, but one day they'll be nice mulberry handles for some great home crafted knives.

Ladybug -- Day 318

I found a ladybug while getting ready to do the dishes this evening. I remembered a photo taken by Steve Gallow, another photographer with a 365 day project (I'd post his photo, but I can't remember what day it was.) and decided to make that ladybug my photo for today. I ended up forgetting about the dishes and came back later to find that my sister's had completed the job without me. :D Thanks girls!

Pumpkin -- Day 317 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

I'm trying to take photos of all the fall colors and decorations, before they get put away and replaced with Christmas things. I love fall and thanksgiving and all the colors that come with them. :)

I put three kernels of corn on this pumpkin to remember the tradition of the pilgrims when they served a few kernels of corn with their meal to remember the long winters with only a small amount of food.

A is for Acorn -- Day 316

You thought I was done with my alphabet project didn't you? Well, it has mostly reached completion, but I recently thought I should take an acorn picture to use as the long A sound. I can't decide if I want to use A is for Apron or A is for Acorn.
I collected these acorns this evening and brought them home and set up a small studio with a sheet of poster board and 2 desk lamps.

Artist at Work -- Day 315

My sister, Amber, is working on a new pencil drawing. This is for some friends who lost their baby a few months ago. It's a surprise so if you know them, don't tell them. Hopefully they won't just happen to look at my blog in the next few days, but if they do they'll get a sneak preview. :D

Brother and Sister -- Day 314

Today we took a walk in the lovely fall weather. My siblings are great and were very obliging at letting me take their pictures today. :) They came up with some good poses and I liked how this one turns out. Even though Daniel wouldn't give me a real smile. :D

Cookie Dough -- Day 313

I love cookie dough! Today, Abbie mixed up a big batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies for our pizza party. We ended up with 60 people in our house and the cookies where a big hit!

American Flag Pins -- Day 312

I've been planning to take this photo on Veteran's Day for awhile. I have a friend who collects flag pins and she and I thought they'd make a good picture. So I simple made a pile and took a photo. As I was going through them, the many different kinds of pins reminded me of the many different kinds of American's that live here in the United States. Which pin best represents you?

Froggie -- Day 311

Amber found this frog yesterday at work and brought it home so I could take some picture of it. I already had a photo for yesterday, so saved it for today. I took it to work with me so that Emelyn and Ellise could see it, and I took it outside for a photo shoot while they were napping. :)

Fall Colors -- Day 310 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

The colors are so pretty! I can't get over how much I love fall. I noticed this scene on my way home from work. I cross this railroad track every day, but today the sun was just right and caught my attention (probably has to do with the time change, normally the sun wouldn't have been so  low in the sky). In this shot the sun had gone behind a cloud, but I liked how it turned out better than the ones I got with the full sun. I love the combination of colors. Red, Yellow and Green.

Doughnuts -- Day 309

All I can say is YUM!!!
My brothers watched Homer Price The Doughnuts today (Really funny, if you want to watch it you can see the whole episode here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HowpkY-Aro). Mom left to go to the store as the doughnuts were coming out of Uncle Ulysses' doughnut machine. When she returned she announced that we'd be having doughnuts for dinner. :)
Mom is great at being random at random times. We've never had doughnuts for dinner before. :D We didn't have a fancy machine like Uncle Ulysses, but a few cans of biscuits, oil and powdered sugar makes doughnuts just as good as Homer's!

Glass Bottles -- Day 308

I've been wanting to use these bottles as the subject for a photo for a long time. My brother found them in the neighbor's trash (yes, my brothers are dumpster divers. :)) and have had them in a trash can for a long time. Today I went outside to find something to take a picture of and saw the bottles in the trash can filled with water. They are greenish because they've been in that water filled trash can for a long time. :D Anyway, I fished them out one or two at a time and dumped the slimy water out of most of them. I left in in a few of them to add character. :) I lined them up on our fallen tree and took some shots then moved some of them to the stump they were on in this photo. The sun and sky were perfect and I got some really neat pictures. Then I walked over to the bottles for some reason and decided to just stick my camera down and shoot from the ground. I didn't even look through the viewfinder and it turned out perfect. I was holding my camera upside down and I didn't rotate this image 'cause I really like how it looks just like it is.
PS Does anyone notice anything odd about one of the bottles? Besides the fact that there is one with a hole in it. :)

Walking in the Leaves -- Day 307

More leaves! They are quickly leaving the trees so I have to get all my fall leaf shots taken. :) Daniel agreed to pose for this shot. I think he likes his shoes, so he didn't mind them being featured on my blog. :)

Baby Sugar Maple Leaf -- Day 306

Check out this little leaf on our neighbor's Sugar Maple tree. I hope no one is getting tired of maple leaves. I just love them! This leaf is about an inch across and is cute sticking out of the branch. I wonder if it will grow back next year.

Silhouetted Ben -- Day 305

Ben took me down to the woods to show my the fort he, Daniel and Luke built a day or so ago. Here he is standing on his "Lookout Tower."

Out of Order -- Day 304

Those of you who check my blog regularly may have been wondering where my photos have been. This time I have a good excuse for not posting. :D My computer has been out of order for most of the week, due to a burning power supply. I thought a photo of the ailing computer would be great for today. At first I took a shot of just the computer and then decided to move it to the table. I looked through the viewfinder and noticed the Patience sign in the background. Very fitting, so I composed the shot to include it. :D

I Voted Today -- Day 303

I posted my "I voted" sticker after the primaries in August and today I thought it would be fun to post my new sticker in honor of the General Election. I personally like this sticker better than the last one. :) And I'm happy that the guys I voted for won. :)

Get Out the Vote -- Day 302

This evening I took, Hannah and Daniel and we went to join the American Government Camp team in their efforts to get out the vote in our area. American Government Camp was started by a friend of ours. Every two years he heads up this camp for young people to learn about our government and to get involved in campaigning for conservative candidates.
Our family didn't go to camp this year, but we enjoyed getting to join them for sign waving. It was fun to see their enthusiasm and excitement as they did their best for their candidates. :D
