Oil Pastels -- Day 208

Today I decided to break out the art set that a friend gave us. I wanted to try out the pastels, but I was hoping for soft pastels, not oil pastels. Oh well. I tried them out and didn't really like the result, so I'll have to try again sometime. :)

The Names of God -- Day 150

Artist at Work -- Day 315

My sister, Amber, is working on a new pencil drawing. This is for some friends who lost their baby a few months ago. It's a surprise so if you know them, don't tell them. Hopefully they won't just happen to look at my blog in the next few days, but if they do they'll get a sneak preview. :D

Signed Art -- Day 295

Today I got out my paint markers to sign a few prints. I wasn't thinking I'd use this shot for my photo of the day, but I like how it turned out. :)

A Work in Progress -- Day 106

Today I had the privilege of meeting and photographing a group of artists, who were using my neighbor's gardens as inspiration for their oil paintings. I think I could have watched them all day. :) I had a hard time choosing only one photo for today. :) This was my favorite of the paintings done today. I love the bright colors. :)

Matryoshka -- Day 68

We went to a Russian Dinner put on by friends who are missionaries to Russia. The whole room was decorated with various Russian decorations and souvenirs. I loved the many Matryoshka Dolls or Nesting Dolls scattered about. Matryoshka dolls are a popular souvenir in Russia.

Watercolor -- Day 57

This is a watercolor I painted a while back. I was helping Emelyn and Ellise paint and decided I'd try out the watercolors myself. I never liked watercolor when I was a kid, but now that I gave it another try, it was pretty fun. I might just have to start a new hobby. :)

SMILE -- Day 48

I took today's photo while on a walk. I was walking with Amber and our good friends and we were noticing all the trash littering the neighborhood. I thought about posting a trash photo and took several, but didn't like how nasty they all looked once I got them on the computer. We found this little red "s" and decided to make a word out of it. Smile! Much better than trash.
