Box Turtle -- Day 137
Found this guy (or gal) on the road to work. Amber and I stopped and picked him up for the kids to see. The boys loved him! Poor turtle probably didn't have the best day of his life. :) He seemed happy to be free again when we returned him to his area of town. :)

Froggie -- Day 311
Amber found this frog yesterday at work and brought it home so I could take some picture of it. I already had a photo for yesterday, so saved it for today. I took it to work with me so that Emelyn and Ellise could see it, and I took it outside for a photo shoot while they were napping. :)

Riding into the Sunset -- Day 244
Today we went to our friends', the Neighbours, house for a party. Horse riding was on the agenda and those of us who rode them had a great time. :) Here is Rebecca riding "Mare." The sky was perfect and I love how this shot turned out.

Lazy Dog -- Day 233
Another day of wondering what to take a photo of. I took some flower pictures and cantaloupe in the garden, then wandered around to the front porch to find my favorite dog looking as cute as ever. So guess who made it on my blog? Annie!

A Boy and His Dog -- Day 223
Today Amber, Ben, Annie and I made a trip to Dillon's to pick up a few ingredients for lunch on Sunday. Because we took Annie and didn't want to leave her in the hot car, Amber ran in the grocery store while the Ben and I stayed with Annie outside. Dillon's is next to a railroad track and we enjoyed watching a train go by and collecting pop cans along the edge of the parking lot. At one point we noticed pigeons up on the tracks so Ben and Annie took after them. I had gotten my camera out to take a picture of the pigeons and after they chased them away Ben and Annie posed for me. It was so nice. It was all Ben's idea and he got Annie to sit and got down there beside her. If I had asked him to do it I don't think the photo would have turned out so well. :)

German Shepherd Pup -- Day 211
Last night we got a phone call from friends who were driving through and needed someone to watch a puppy for them overnight. They had planned to deliver the pup to her new owner, but when the guy didn't show, our friends needed to leave her as they were on their way to Colorado and didn't want to drive the 3 hours home or take her on vacation with them. :) We were conveniently available so we got to puppy sit "Peachy" for 15 hours. Amber and I have always liked German Shepherds and we enjoyed having her here.

The Annie Charge! -- Day 176 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll
My creativity seems to be dwindling. If anyone has any ideas for things I can capture, let me know.
Maybe I was just tired today, but I really didn't know what to take a photo of. I don't have any little siblings who are cute and cooperative, so I had to use the dog. She was cute, but not exactally cooperative, but at least she doesn't whine like a child. :) I made her sit across the field and then told her to come. She didn't come to me, but at least I got a photo of her. She ran on past me until she got to the end of her leash. :) My focus was a little off and I still haven't figured out how to get good sharp photos in the evening. The sun was still above the horizon, but still not bright enough for a fast shutter speed. Oh well, I guess this photo depicts motion. :)

Baby "Beans" -- Day 170
About a month ago Camryn, Emelyn, Ellise and I took a walk and found a puddle of tadpoles. We collected a bunch of them so we could watch them grow and this is a photo of the only one who grew legs. I added water to the tadpole habitat several times, but regretfully I forgot over the weekend and by the time I remembered this morning, all the tadpoles were dried up. :( Of course their puddle dried up weeks ago, so I guess they lived longer than they would have. :) Anyway this lone little guy was lucky enough to survive the drought since he had already acquired his legs, but sadly he also died today, shortly after taking this photo. I don't know why, maybe he was handled to much? We buried him in the flower garden next to a pink petunia. After he died, Camryn promptly named him "Beans" after the bullfrog who died in the 2003 movie version of Cheaper By the Dozen.Photo details: Canon EOS Digital Rebel, Exposure time 1/250 sec, Aperture f/8, ISO 100, Focal Length 55.0 mm.

My Dog -- Day 159
This is what Annie looks like whenever I go outside without her. She's truly MY dog (and Amber's). She doesn't care what everyone else is doing, if Amber or I walk out to the yard she follows us from window to window. I really think she feels like she has to watch over us and that is why she goes crazy. I guess we need to work more on establishing us as the pack leaders. :D

Stretch -- Day 156
I'm home again, after a weekend away, and I'm again falling back on my alphabet project because I don't have any other ideas for a photo (I'm also trying to get all these photos taken so that everyone will believe me that I really am almost done:)). "Stretch" the ostrich gets to be my subject for "O" since I don't have a zoo nearby. :) He's so much cuter than a real ostrich anyway.

Turtle Meets Cat -- Day 148
A turtle showed up in our yard this morning and Amber found another one on the way to work and brought it home. I needed a turtle for my alphabet project so I took "Sammy" and "Tiny" out to the front yard for a photo shoot. Tina came along and made the outcome of the photo shoot even better. :D She sure has a habit of showing up and changing my photos for the better. :) This is the bigger turtle, Sammy, in this photo. Tiny will be featured in my alphabet project.
