Fireworks -- Day 226
I've done it! I've finally figured out how to capture an image of fireworks!!! It was actually simple once I read a tutorial I found via Pinterest. I've tried for years to get them right, but only had one chance a year. Ever since the Joplin Blasters baseball team moved to town I've been meaning to get down to the stadium to capture their Friday Fireworks show. Kinda fun to see fireworks on a regular basis throughout the summer since we only live 4 blocks from the stadium. Tonight I hopped in my car and took tripod and camera and set up to shoot just minutes before the first blast.

Parking Lot -- Day 206
I spent today at Silver Dollar City. I decided that I'd leave my camera in the car and enjoy the park without carrying it around. :) So this is the photo you get today. Just the parking lot after dark when we were leaving. The funny thing is that I really didn't miss my camera that much. There were a couple times that I would have rather had it than my cell phone camera, but I captured the moments on my cell phone camera and it was worth not having to carry around a big camera all day. :)

The Lodge -- Day 310
Today I left my camera at the camp, when I went to work, just in case
Amber needed it. I think this was the first time I've been without a
camera for most of a day while doing my project. Since I was at work all
day without my camera I had to capture a photo when I got back to camp.
I took a few random shots in the evening, but didn't really like them,
so just before climbing into my bed in my cozy cabin, Amber suggested a
night photo. Back out in the cold I went and this is what I found.

Bricks at Night -- Day 58
This was a shot in the dark. :) The plan was to get some shots of the Moon, Jupitar and Venus, but that wasn't working out so I turned my lens to the chimney. :) I had to use Dad's spot light/flashlight in order to see well enough to focus for this photo. :)

Lake at Night -- Day 228 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll
Today we packed up and headed out for a weekend conference. The Gospel Gathering was held at an Inn on the lake. We arrived at our condo at dusk and by the time I remembered to take a photo this was pretty much the only thing I could think of. :) I don't especially like how it turned out. It looked better on the back of the camera. Once I got around to editing "today" was long gone. :)

Venus -- Day 151
I took this photo and didn't like it in the preview screen so I took another one of my Dad's socket wrenches (He was working on my car) that I planned to post, but when I got this one on the computer and edited, I liked how it looked. :) The main celestial body in this photo is Venus, but you can also see, Wasat, k Gem, u Gem, l Gem, 57 Gem, b Gem, 64 Gem, and λ Gem, all stars in the constellation Gemini.

Campfire -- Day 138 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll
This weekend my sisters and I went to an outreach/workday at Camp David of the Ozarks. After dinner we all gathered around the bonfire for singing and s'mores. At the point I took this photo the fire was way to hot for roasting marshmellows, unless you wanted to eat them black. :) I used a stump as a tripod for this shot.

Dusk -- Day 104
I spent the day working in the kitchen and didn't get a chance to take a photo until the sun had already sunk below the horizon. I figured it was a good time to get out my tripod and shoot some long exposures. I love how this one turned out. I like the blue of the sky and the amber colored street light. The moon (just left of the flare from the street light) was really pretty too, although this photo doesn't do it justice. I love going outside at dusk on a cool evening, it brings back many memories for me. :)

Nightime Snow -- Day 76
We got a snow storm for the first day of spring instead of a rainstorm. :) Not exactly what anyone was expecting. I braved the "Wintery Mix" with tripod, plastic bag, and camera in hand. I would have taken a photo facing the opposite direction, which would have probably been more interesting, but the wind was blowing and I was trying to avoid the wetness hitting my lens. :)Photo details: Canon EOS Digital Rebel, Exposure time 6 sec, Aperture f/4.5, ISO 100, Focal Length 30.0 mm, Tripod, Taken in RAW, Processed with Digital Photo Professional.
