Message on a Banana -- Day 259
When we arrived at The Retreat my good friend and I thought it would be fun to scratch messages on all the bananas that were set out for breakfasts. We found some thumbtacks and set to work. :) This is the banana I got the next morning. I love how the messages show up so perfectly overnight.

Apricots -- Day 151
Apricots are ripening! Got home and found our guest room floor covered in apricots. The brothers had been picking them. :) the last time I featured an apricot on this blog was in 2010 when I did my first 365 project. That year the apricots weren't ready until the end of June, this year we are a month ahead. :)

Orange -- Day 18
My employer gave me an orange as I walked out the door, today. My Dad and I carpool since I drive past his work to go to mine, so when I went to pick him up tonight I put the Light Box to work. I like the photo, but I liked the orange more. It was really good!

Tiny Red Tart Apple -- Day 294
There is a cute little tree at church, with these cute little tart apples on it. I thought they were crabapples at first, but something about them doesn't look quite the same as crab apples. Whatever kind they are they made for a good picture. And all the little kids at church had fun eating them. :D

Apple Slicing -- Day 267
It's time for apples! We haven't done anything with apples at our house, but thanks to my best friend down the road, I was able to get these shots. She was peeling, coring, and slicing apples with her sister this afternoon. They were making apples sauce. I love apple season. I'm now wishing for some apple pie a la mode. Mmmmmmmm. :D

Crab Apples -- Day 252
I've been saving the crab apples for a day when I don't have anything else to take a picture of. I decided I'd better hurry up or they'd all fall off the tree and I'd miss them. :)

German Pastry -- Day 247
My sister has been working at the Farmer's Market for a man selling German pastries. Twice a week she or Mom comes home with something delicious. Its a good thing this isn't a full time job. :) Here's what Mom brought home today. Picture perfect and it tasted good too. :D

Watermelon Bliss -- Day 210
Today, at church we were given a couple large watermelon. We sliced one of them for supper. Ben really enjoyed his, and I enjoyed taking his photo eating it. :)

Watermelon Summer -- Day 196
I love watermelon! Today it especially reminded me of summer, since we are in the middle of a July heat wave. :) I set my plate in the grass for less than five minutes, moving it several times to get the right composition and when I carried it back inside it had already acquired 3 ants. :)

Special Cherries -- Day 177
Yep, today is my special day. This is part of my breakfast. I love Bing Cherries! This plate is a big part of family celebrations at our house. For as long as I can remember Mom has gotten it out on birthday's and the birthday person gets to use it. For many years Amber and I shared the plate, taking turns using it on our birthday, until eventually Mom found a second one on ebay. :) Now we each have our own for our special day. :)

Apricot -- Day 173
The apricot trees at the rental house across the street are ripe and ready for picking. :) No one lives in the house and we've picked the apricots a few times before. Today Ben and Daniel spent a couple hours out in the heat picking apricots, shaking the limbs and collecting them from the ground. Now we have piles of these cute little fruits. They taste good too. :) Ben posed for this shot. That was actually my apricot that I had taken a bite out of. I just couldn't get a good picture while holding it, so I asked him to do the honors. And his shirt made a perfect backdrop. :)

Three Strawberries -- Day 158
Today I picked 3 strawberries from our strawberry patch. They were a little too tart, but cute enough for a photo. :)
