Coca-Cola -- Day 161

Tonight Mom brought out Coca-Cola! If you know our family you'll know that we just don't drink soda. But Mom found this low calorie coke (made with sugar and stevia) and bought it for a treat. :) Here's Ben enjoying a it. :)

Kite Flying -- Day 293

I took my little brother down to the hill to fly his kite. It was good kite flying weather, not quite like March winds, but the kite did stay up pretty good. :)

Cart Ride -- Day 267

My brothers built this "cart" out of pieces of wood, an old bike and an old wagon. Today Ben took it for a ride down the hill. :) He has plans to build a trailer for it, so I can ride behind him. :P

Hotel Pool -- Day 247

Ben and I loved that our hotel on the return trip had an indoor pool. :) We had it all to ourselves. :D

Ben on the Rails -- Day 245

We took a walk this morning and I captured Ben balancing on the rails. This track was so straight and so long. It just disappeared in the distance of the Canadian Plains

Wood Chip Play -- Day 222

Today we got a couple big loads of wood chips dumped in our yard. :) These are going to cover the rest of the garden that isn't covered. If you haven't watched it yet, you should check out the Back To Eden film. So far so good for our garden soil. Now we just need to start some late crops since we didn't get any harvest earlier in the year due to the drought.

Luke and Ben set to digging themselves a hole in the middle of the pile. Wood chips are more stable than leaves or hay. :D

Chocolate! Oh yeah! (Don't worry he only breathed on the batter. The tongue never came in contact. :P)

The Hunt -- Day 87

I couldn't resist posting this one for today. I took more artistic photos today, but this one is just classic. :) They are stalking pigeons. :)

Peeking in -- Day 31

I took Ben on a short excursion with my camera this afternoon. We did a little exploring hoping to find something in our neighborhood that we'd never seen before. We've taken pictures at this little shed before, so nothing new there. But we were intrigued as to what was inside. :) I liked how this shot turned out. It makes me imagine all the secrets hidden inside. :) We've looked inside before. It's just old junk.

Shootout -- Day 7

This evening I went outside on a quest for today's photo. Sometimes I just happen upon the perfect photo op, but sometimes I have to look for it. I took some random pictures and wasn't really liking how they were turning out. Then I looked and there were my brother hunkered down on the slope at the edge of our yard with guns ready. :) I decided to shoot them before they shot me. I have a Canon that I was sure could over power their pistols. They insisted they won, but I've got evidence that my gun was more powerful. :D

Silhouetted Ben -- Day 305

Ben took me down to the woods to show my the fort he, Daniel and Luke built a day or so ago. Here he is standing on his "Lookout Tower."

Dumpster Diving Brothers -- Day 225

It rained over the weekend, so today I took the boys on a walk to look for lighters. We walked along the drainage ditch/creek and ended up finding 12 lighters today. That's definitely a record for one day. On our way home we went a round about way and the boys got excited when they saw this dumpster. They were hoping to find some sort of treasure, but nothing of worth was inside. Hmmmm... I wonder why? Maybe because it was trash. :)

A Boy and His Dog -- Day 223

Today Amber, Ben, Annie and I made a trip to Dillon's to pick up a few ingredients for lunch on Sunday. Because we took Annie and didn't want to leave her in the hot car, Amber ran in the grocery store while the Ben and I stayed with Annie outside. Dillon's is next to a railroad track and we enjoyed watching a train go by and collecting pop cans along the edge of the parking lot. At one point we noticed pigeons up on the tracks so Ben and Annie took after them. I had gotten my camera out to take a picture of the pigeons and after they chased them away Ben and Annie posed for me. It was so nice. It was all Ben's idea and he got Annie to sit and got down there beside her. If I had asked him to do it I don't think the photo would have turned out so well. :)
