Sunset -- Week 7
Enjoyed a weekend in a cabin in the country for a family retreat. This is the beautiful sunset on our first evening there.

Sunset Family -- Day 236
Three years ago I captured a sunset picture of Amber and Stephen (click to view) and today we decided to make it a family affair. :)

Old Bottle -- Day 294
This evening I didn't have a subject in mind, but when I walked out the door, I saw this old Watkins bottle sitting among the other junk on our back porch. I picked it up and made my way to the back yard. I noticed that the sun was still casting a small circle of light on the wood chip pile. I set the bottle there and went around to the other side of the pile and snapped a few shots. I liked the effect! Yep, that's how my photography goes some days. :)

Sunset Couple -- Day 246
I think this may be my favorite photo of the weekend. My sister and her fiancè had an idea for a sunset photo, so they posed with the sun every night I was there. :) I liked this sunset the best and enjoyed trying to capture what they were envisioning. :)

Tree and Fence -- Day 224
I went to a gathering of friends and this pretty spot of "farm" was right next to the church we met at. :) I took a lot of photos at the gathering, but chose this one for today's photo. Right next to this little field of grass was my dream house, a log cabin with wrap around porch. :)

Brothers at the Farm -- Day 216
Had a great time visiting "The Farm" over the weekend. :) I took over 500 photos! Didn't take as many on Friday, so I had a harder time choosing which one to post. Finally decided on this one. The focus is off and I would have loved to not have left Luke's hand out of the frame, but even with those little "quirks" there's just something about the feel of the photo that I love. :)

Flock of Birds at Sunset -- Day 157
I drove across town (where there weren't trees and buildings to block the view) to watch the sunset hoping to see the Transit of Venus. The horizon was cloudy though, so I didn't get to see Venus make it's way across the sun, but I did capture this cool shot of a flock of birds. :) I upped the contrast quite a bit, so it didn't look quite like this. And I don't think that is smoke, even though it does kinda look smokey.

Eiffel Tower -- Day 111
I didn't know what to take a photo of today, so I asked my dad if he had any ideas. He thought a photo looking into a flashlight might be neat. I got his LED flashlight and took a few photos, but during the process, I got the inspiration for this photo. A souvenir paperweight, my bed and a lightbox that my sister uses for drawing, combined to make a sunset behind the Eiffel Tower. :)
