Today was the first day of Family Camp. Many families look forward to it each year. This is my sister Hannah with three of her friends. :)

Nate the Scholar -- Day 270
My sister has these old sunglasses that don't have lenses anymore and brought them to work to play with. Nate loved them! He was very proud to be wearing glasses. I just love this little cutie! Silly boy always seems to have a dirty face, whenever he decides to be cute for the camera. :P

A Heart for Africa -- Day 269
Last year my Mom did a geography study with my younger brothers in which they "traveled" the globe and learned about all the countries. I guess you can say she left her heart in Africa. :) Every since then she's had a heart for the people in Africa. Mom found this beautiful figurine of an African mother and her baby as a reminder to us all to pray for the Christians in Africa, especially Sudan.

Cart Ride -- Day 267
My brothers built this "cart" out of pieces of wood, an old bike and an old wagon. Today Ben took it for a ride down the hill. :) He has plans to build a trailer for it, so I can ride behind him. :P

Nate and a Popsicle -- Day 265
Today the "Ice Cream Man" rang the doorbell. :) Not normal for the ice-cream man, but today he had a special message, a neighbor had offered to buy all the kids their choice of an ice cream treat. All 10 kids got to make their selection from the ice-cream truck. :) Nobody complained! We don't know who the benevolent neighbor is, but all the Workman Kiddos say, "Thankyou."

Oncoming Train -- Day 264
Tonight I was lucky and was at the right spot at the right time with my camera. :) This photo isn't nearly as dramatic as it looks. :) Should I tell my secrets or just let everyone believe I was dumb enough to stand on the tracks this close to an oncoming train?
Ok, the train wasn't moving. I was using my zoom lens, and I had two sisters watching nearby to tell me if the train moved even a fraction of an inch. This was taken just after another train had passed on the other track, so this train would have derailed itself, if it had moved before switching the track. I was playing it safe. :)

A Note About Bacon -- Day 262
David, who is 9 years old, loves bacon. He used to ask me to cook bacon for him "like Grandma's bacon." Over the summer he asked me daily for bacon. After a few times of not getting it just right, I finally perfected "Bacon like Grandma's." :) I think David has been missing his bacon and today when I arrived at work I found this note. :) I had a plate full of bacon ready when he got off the school bus. :D

One Nation Under God -- Day 261
It Constitution Day. How I wish that our country could/would return to it's beginnings and truly be One Nation Under God.

Wildflower Bouquet -- Day 260
My sister returned from Canada today. :) After church and lunch we walked down to the spring at the retreat center. She picked this bouquet of wild flowers that reminded her of the ones she enjoyed while in the mountains in Canada.

Message on a Banana -- Day 259
When we arrived at The Retreat my good friend and I thought it would be fun to scratch messages on all the bananas that were set out for breakfasts. We found some thumbtacks and set to work. :) This is the banana I got the next morning. I love how the messages show up so perfectly overnight.

White Mug -- Day 258
I spent the weekend at our church's family retreat. I took lots and lots of pictures. It was hard to choose which ones to post each day. :) I could have posted random photos from some of the things we did, but decided to instead post the ones I actually thought about while I was taking them. :)
Here's my cute little white mug that I used for hot cocoa in the evening.

Pizza Delivery Dad -- Day 256
Our family has always had a preference for Domino's. I don't really know why. Maybe it's the taste, maybe it's just a habit, or maybe it's 'cause Dad used to work there (although he also worked at Pizza Hut, so that may not be it), whatever the reason, when we order pizza it's usually from Domino's. After featuring Domino's two other times during this project (see those posts here and here) I decided that any time we order Domino's this year I will feature it on this blog. :) Tonight was another one of those times, and I captured this shot of Dad as he brought out the pizzas. :) I had told him before he went in that he had to be ready for a photo when he came out and to make sure he held the pizzas high. :D

New Eggs -- Day 254
Remember the chicks? Well, finally after 5 months of waiting, Corrine's chickens have laid their first eggs. :) Today we found 3 little eggs out in the hen house. She was soooo excited!

Pendant -- Day 253
I came across this tutorial online the other day and thought I'd try it out. I had fun making this cute little necklace for my niece. :)

Great Reads -- Day 250
Today I took some pictures of my friend Rebekah's books that she's published so far. She's got a few more in the works. :)

Blue and Green Crayons -- Day 249
Today is Blues Greens Day (a holiday that my younger brothers made up when they were really little). Usually we would have dressed up and dyed our food blue and green, but today we were a little lower key than normal. I didn't have any blue or green food to photograph, so I grabbed a few crayons instead. :)

Hotel Pool -- Day 247
Ben and I loved that our hotel on the return trip had an indoor pool. :) We had it all to ourselves. :D

Sunset Couple -- Day 246
I think this may be my favorite photo of the weekend. My sister and her fiancè had an idea for a sunset photo, so they posed with the sun every night I was there. :) I liked this sunset the best and enjoyed trying to capture what they were envisioning. :)

Ben on the Rails -- Day 245
We took a walk this morning and I captured Ben balancing on the rails. This track was so straight and so long. It just disappeared in the distance of the Canadian Plains
