Cliff-Side View -- Day 361 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

Today we took a hike with the family. Abbie was in charge of our Niece as we walked along the cliffs. They were lagging behind as we were nearing the end of our walk and I got some good shots of them. Abbie was pointing out something she saw across the river below. I love how this shot turned out. It was somewhat posed (meaning I had them recreate the look, since I wasn't ready with the camera when she first pointed. :))

Play Time with Auntie -- Day 360

Here Amber is entertaining our nephew with a fun song that Dad taught us when we were young. "Clap your hands... Clap your hands... Shout unto the King, Hallelujah!"

Green Ball -- Day 359

One last visit to the Christmas decorations. :) I knew we were planning on putting them all away tomorrow so I took some more pictures of the Christmas balls hanging in the doorway. I like this green one the best.

Deer Dinner -- Day 358 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

Well, today's photo was going to be a family photo that I took, but I posted it ahead of its time. Mom didn't want it online yet, so those of you who got to see it count yourself blessed. :) Here is another photo I took today. We went out to my grandparents house and got to watch two deer come up close to the house for a little snack. I was so thankful for my 300mm zoom lens. :)

Angel Chimes -- Day 357

My niece agreed to pose for my photo today. :) We've had these angel chimes for as long as I can remember. Every year we light the candles and listen as the heat from the candles make the angels spin around and ring the bells to announce the coming of the baby Jesus. :)

Happy Birthday, Jesus -- Day 356

"Happy birthday Jesus,
I'm so glad it's Christmas!
All the tinsel and lights,
And the presents are nice.
But the real gift is you!

Happy birthday, Jesus,
I'm so glad it's Christmas!
All the carols and bells,
Make the holidays swell,
And it's all about you.

Happy birthday, Jesus!
Jesus, I love you!

Happy birthday, Jesus!
I'm so glad it's Christmas!
All the tinsel and lights,
And the presents are nice!
But the real gift is you!

Happy birthday, Jesus!
I'm so glad it's Christmas!
All the carols and bells,
Make the holidays swell,
And it's all about you!

Happy birthday, Jesus!
Jesus, I love you!

I love you, Jesus!"

Puppy Chow -- Day 355

Today we celebrated Daniel's 15th birthday. We have two ceramic dog bowls that are too big for our cute little dog, so we saved them to use for serving dishes. Today we decorated the table with blue and white for Daniel's birthday party, and mom had the idea to make puppy chow to fill the blue and white dog bowls. What a good excuse for eating chocolate! No this isn't the kind of chow we feed our dog. :)

Christmas Cookies -- Day 354

Yummy Christmas cookies!

Chicken Noodle Soup -- Day 353

Nothing like good ol' Chicken Noodle on a cold winter evening. :)

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Snow Globe -- Day 352

Another Christmasy photo for today. Is anyone tired of seeing Christmas yet?

Peanut Merry Christmas -- Day 351

This is what we were greeted by when Neil, the peanut guy, opened the back of his truck to deliver the packing peanuts today. :)

Candy Jars -- Day 350 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

What's Christmas without candy? We took another trip to the Chocolate Factory today. I posted another photo from there last month. We had over night guests who spent the day with us and we older "kids" headed over to drool over all the candies. We got some samples too, if only chocolate wasn't so expensive!

Christmas Tree -- Day 349

This is the Christmas tree at Amber's employer's house. Isn't it so warm and cozy looking? And I love the huge window that is behind it and the train that goes around the base. :) I've been having fun capturing all the Christmasy things around me.

Simply Nativity -- Day 348

Went to our friends house for a Christmas party tonight. Everything was decorated so pretty, but I loved the simplicity of this wooden nativity and star above their stairway. :)

Christmas Ball Reflection -- Day 347

I took this as I was heading out the door this evening. I didn't think it would turn out so good! I love that I can see my reflection in the ball.

Hot Cocoa -- Day 346

Emelyn, Ellise and I had hot chocolate today when they got up from their nap. Mmmmmmm tasty!

Christmas Cards -- Day 345

Today was Christmas Card making day with Emelyn and Ellise. I saw the ideas for thumbprint snowmen and fabric tree cards online and decided to combine the two into this cute card. :) We had fun making a collection of these for their mom, dad, cousin and grandparents. :)

Moisturizer -- Day 344

You've got to have it this time of year. :) My hands are soooooo dried out from packing boxes and pulling dusty boxes off of shelves. Dad's All-Over Moisturizer does the trick though. :)

The Olivia -- Day 343

I took this at the old Olivia hotel. It is in the process of being renovated. This photo was actually taken from the back side of the glass, but I flipped it so that it could be read. So I guess you could say this isn't an accurate image of the cut glass window at the Olivia, but the lighting was better from inside the foyer instead of the small entry way, which is on the other side of this window.

Tape Gun Hold-Up -- Day 342

I took this shot from the rafters at work. My sister, Abbie, and co-worker, Susan, were holding my dad up with their tape guns. :) It was a fun moment as the day was winding down. My sister's, Susan and I were making a movie and this was part of it. Check out this link for the finished production.

What a Bright Idea -- Day 341

Since photos of toys are involved in the business, there is a light box at the warehouse, which I thought would be fun to put to use tonight after I was off work. :) There was a lightbulb available, so it became my subject. I also took a picture of a miniature cow, carmal corn and cd's, but I really liked the light bulb the best. :)

Billiards -- Day 340

My brothers got an early Christmas gift. :) Yep, Mom found a good deal on a Foosball table at the Salvation Army Family Store. :) The foosball is fun in itself, but what I really like is that is also converts to many other games including Billiards. :) I enjoyed getting my brothers to pose for some shots of the pool table. :)

Russell Stover -- Day 339

What's the Christmas season without chocolate? I got these from Emelyn and Ellise's grandma, Vallie. She's a sweet lady and I'm enjoying the sweet chocolate. :)

Christmas Scrabble -- Day 338 --Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

It started with "Jesus" and went on from there. :) I know there isn't much chance of this happening in a real game, but I was having fun with the letters. :) I was amazed that I got as many Christmas related words as I did.

Jack Frost -- Day 337

This morning the cars were frosted over. Dad scraped all the windows except mine. I'm glad he left the frosty designs there I enjoyed photographing the frosty window as I rode to work. :D

Wedding Cake -- Day 336

Another wedding today. :) So many friends are getting married. :D Today I decided to feature the beautiful wedding cake. I love real flowers on wedding cakes!

You May Kiss Your Bride -- Day 335

I went to a friends wedding today. I love how this photo turned out. I'm not usually able to get a good shot of the kiss, cause I have heads in front of me, but today I guess I was in the right spot. :) I'm so happy that another one of my friends has married her best friend. :D

Friday, December 3, 2010

Cinnamon Rolls -- Day 334

Abbie made cinnamon rolls! :) They look so tasty. I couldn't decide between these three shots, so I decided to post all three. :)

Dripping Faucet -- Day 333 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll

I never knew freezing water mid fall was so easy, until I ran across this tutorial http://photos.soboring.org/High_speed_photography/. I got out my tripod and had a great time capturing water. :)

Inside the Piano -- Day 332

Our piano's are being tuned! :) Our pianos have needed tuning for years, and we recently discovered that a friend of ours knows how to do it. William lives in Texas but is currently in the area for a wedding this weekend, so he came by to tune our pianos for free. What a blessing!
