Migration -- Day 292
On the way home from work, we saw this flock of birds. I had just mentioned that the clouds looked like snow clouds to the north, and when we saw the birds, Amber said "Snow birds!" I don't know what kind of birds they were, but they were white. And it isn't cold enough for snow yet. :D We pulled over so I could capture them as they headed west into the sunset.

Flock of Birds at Sunset -- Day 157
I drove across town (where there weren't trees and buildings to block the view) to watch the sunset hoping to see the Transit of Venus. The horizon was cloudy though, so I didn't get to see Venus make it's way across the sun, but I did capture this cool shot of a flock of birds. :) I upped the contrast quite a bit, so it didn't look quite like this. And I don't think that is smoke, even though it does kinda look smokey.

Clouds Moving In -- Day 43
Today started out sunny, but as evening approached, the clouds started rolling in. I caught this image as the blue was almost ready to disappear completely. I had a little fun with this image after I got it on the computer. I realized I really need to clean my lens/filter/mirror (or something?), so I took off a few smudges that were "on" the clouds. I also adjusted the contrast so that the photo showed a little more of the texture in the clouds and the color of the sky. I also removed four power lines. Can you tell?
Maybe it will snow. Morning will tell. :D

An Opening Into Heaven -- Day 224
I know it really isn't an opening into Heaven, but those are the thoughts I had when I saw the clouds this evening.
We arrived at church this morning to find that our friend's baby had been unexpectedly born at 23 weeks, only minutes before. The family members who had already arrived at church were rushing off to be with the parents at the hospital and we all prayed and began worship without them.
This precious little baby girl, who only weighed 15 ounces, was in our thoughts all day long. Her grandparents and aunts returned to church with news that she was hanging on to life and we all continued to pray that God would work a miracle and allow her to live.
It wasn't until we had returned home from church and fellowship that we received word that she was failing rapidly and they had decided to remove the ventilator so her parents could hold her before she went to be with Jesus.
I went outside to pray for her when I heard the news and then took Ben, Annie and my camera on a walk. I had been trying to think of something to take a photo of, but didn't really know what would be a good photo for today. It just didn't seem right to take a photo of something random on a day like today.
We walked around the block and we stopped at the hill that looks down into the valley that is west of our house. As I came out into the open I looked up to see the cloudy gray sky and there in the middle of all the clouds was this opening that showed the blue sky behind. This photo doesn't do it justice, some things you just can't capture like they really look. I knew that Josh and Jemima were at that moment holding their tiny precious baby girl and there in the sky was an opening into Heaven where she would be going to spend eternity with her Father.
Christine Hope only lived on this earth for 9 hours, but she was loved and she was prayed for and I know that God's will for her life was accomplished.

Cloudy Sky -- Day 175
This evening the clouds rolled in and we got a short shower of rain that cooled things off. :) This photo was taken before the rain. I messed with the contrast quite a bit, so this doesn't really depict what it really looked like. I like the high contrast and they deep blue sky.

Cloud Column -- Day 112
We took a walk after church. The clouds were big and beautiful. It was a cold windy walk and I almost didn't take my camera. I'm glad I did though. :)

Christ is Risen!!! -- Day 91
"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said..."
