Tiny Blue Flower -- Day 69
Despite how it looks in this image, this flower is only about 1/4 inch across. Reversing my lens is allowing me to see the world in a new way. Now if only it would snow again, so I could capture some snowflakes (Some people will get me for that wish). :P

Macro Pencil -- Day 62
Today's theme is "Sharp." I thought, "hmm what is sharp besides a knife or scissors?" Ah ha, a pencil. But I've already featured pencils two other times in the last 62 days, so I wanted a new way of portraying a pencil. I've been wanting to try out the reverse lens macro technique and this was the perfect subject. Now you know what sharpened pencil lead really looks like.
I really like this effect and I think I need to get myself a reverse lens adapter, cause holding my lens backward in front of my camera sensor and adjusting focus (by moving my subject closer or further from the lens) while also trying to not shake the camera on the tripod or move the lens too much and pushing the button wasn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to do. :) This is a combinations of two images, by the way. My depth of field was so narrow I couldn't even get the whole lead tip in focus at the same time. I had to focus on thinnest part first and then the thicker base and combine the focus of both images. I really like how this image turned out!

Colored Glass -- Day 57
This afternoon I was at a loss for what to photograph. I took a walk and found a few interesting subjects. This one proved to be the best. At first I found just a lone piece of blue glass then discovered green, clear, and brown further down the sidewalk. I took a few shots where I found the glass, but then I decided I'd get better photos if I brought the glass home and didn't have to lay on the sidewalk next to the main road through our neighborhood. I don't know what the people driving by thought. :) So I collected a handful and brought it home to our front walk and sprawled out there instead. At least my family knows me and knows I'm a crazy photographer who does whatever she has to to get the angle she needs. :)

Purple Alyssum -- Day 266
There are purple Alyssum blooming in our flower bed. I love the cute little blooms and the lighting was great for getting some shots of them last night.

Z is for Zipper -- Day 253
We set up the old canvas tent today. We're getting ready for a camping trip, so we had to see how the tents hold up. This tent was my mom's when she was a little girl. It's got broken zippers and holes in the windows, but it's so cool! I needed a better zipper picture for my alphabet project (which is nearing completion) so grabbed a shot of this ancient zipper. :)

Swallowtail Butterfly Wing -- Day 243
Amber found a dead butterfly and brought it to me to take pictures of. It was nice to be able to get a good focus since it wasn't moving. :) I'd rather see them alive though. :)
