Back in 2010 when I was doing my first 365 day photo project, I started a project within a project, I called it the Alphabet Project (If you'd like to see some of the photos in that project click on that label in the right side column of this blog). Today that project has almost reached completion. Today, in the mail, I received the proof copy of my new children's picture book. I'm so excited to finally have this collection of photographs all together in book form! And to make it even better my wonderful friend, Rebekah, has written a poem to go with each of the photos. We are both very excited about the book. If you'd like to see more of Rebekah's published work you can visit her blog at http://rsreadingbooks.blogspot.com/
As soon as I have my book up and ready to go (just a few small things still to do in order to have it ready to sell), I'll post a link. :)

Heart Necklace -- Day 59
Isn't this a pretty necklace? I borrowed it from a friend for a project I'm working on. Yes, I'm still working on my Alphabet Project. :) I've got a photo for every letter, but I was wanting a new Heart for H, so here it is.
If you want to see more from the Alphabet Project, I guess you'll have to surf through the archives. They're all mixed in and I don't think any of them have a specific tag to help locate them. :)

A is for Acorn -- Day 316
You thought I was done with my alphabet project didn't you? Well, it has mostly reached completion, but I recently thought I should take an acorn picture to use as the long A sound. I can't decide if I want to use A is for Apron or A is for Acorn.
I collected these acorns this evening and brought them home and set up a small studio with a sheet of poster board and 2 desk lamps.

Z is for Zipper -- Day 253
We set up the old canvas tent today. We're getting ready for a camping trip, so we had to see how the tents hold up. This tent was my mom's when she was a little girl. It's got broken zippers and holes in the windows, but it's so cool! I needed a better zipper picture for my alphabet project (which is nearing completion) so grabbed a shot of this ancient zipper. :)

A Chat on the Phone -- Day 221
I needed a photo of an apron for my Alphabet Project and Emelyn and Ellise agreed to pose for me. :) This isn't the "apron" photo, but I really liked this one. :) She was chatting way on her barbie phone. The great thing about having a twin is that you always have someone to be on the other end. :D

E is for Eraser -- Day 220
You thought I was done with the Alphabet project didn't you? Well, I'm not done, although it is nearing completion. I decided to add in all the long vowel sounds as well as the short. I still need to find an Iguana or an Indian. The short i is not easy to find.

German Shepherd Pup -- Day 211
Last night we got a phone call from friends who were driving through and needed someone to watch a puppy for them overnight. They had planned to deliver the pup to her new owner, but when the guy didn't show, our friends needed to leave her as they were on their way to Colorado and didn't want to drive the 3 hours home or take her on vacation with them. :) We were conveniently available so we got to puppy sit "Peachy" for 15 hours. Amber and I have always liked German Shepherds and we enjoyed having her here.

Scrap Quilt -- Day 145
Q is for Quilt. I don't know what I'll do when my alphabet project is done. I won't have something to fall back on if I can't think of something to photograph. :)

Hannah's Fiddle -- Day 122
My sister got a fiddle a little while back. She's been praying for a fiddle and some friends found this one for her at a really good deal at the local antique mall. Hannah had just about enough saved up to get it. Now she's been working on her skills. Today I had planned to take my Dad's photo with his guitar, but he ended up being busy and we decided to do it tomorrow. So today I decided to get another shot for my alphabet project. V is for Violin. I'm thinking this photo will be used for more than that project. :)

Crayola -- Day 114 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll
Here's another installment for my alphabet project, C is for Crayon. I had taken a different photo for today, but then I remembered I needed to work on my project and I really like how this shot turned out. I can't wait to collect the rest of my alphabet photos.

Java Chip -- Day 110
Yummy! I don't like how the lighting is on this photo, but the ice cream was melting and I was in a hurry. :) It tasted good, even if the photo didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. :)

Water Hose -- Day 107 -- Winner of Viewer's Choice Poll
Today I took 60+ photos and had a hard time choosing only one for the blog. :) This one is one of my favorites though. :) I was taking photos for an alphabet project I'm doing and this is my W is for Water picture. :) Emelyn and Ellise were more than happy when I asked them for help with the water hose. :) Here Emelyn has the hose and Ellise was running in circles around her trying not to get wet. Haha! They both ended up wet, but I got my shot, before they were too soaked. :)
I was very happy to have my 70-300mm lens. I never could have gotten a shot like this without it. The camera would have been soaked. :)

Canada Goose -- Day 46
I took Emelyn and Ellise on a walk to the small lake near their house. We enjoyed watching the geese that live there. We got too close for this guy and he and his girl ventured out onto the frozen water. He honked his warning as we approached and after getting some pictures we left him alone and went to see the rest of the flock who was swimming and splashing in a section of the lake that had thawed.
