A few weeks ago, my internal card reader stopped working. After using a slow external reader for awhile I finally got around to opening up the tower to fix the problem. All I had to do was find the wire to the card reader, un-plug, restart the computer, shutdown the computer, re-plug the wire, and restart the computer again. Very simple once I figured out which wire was connected to the reader. The blue plug is the opposite end of the wire to the card reader which I'm glad was accessible since the back of the reader was buried behind the CD-ROM drive. Operation was a success and I can now used the fast reader to transfer photos from my Compact Flash card.

Good work
Looks like you are to have more problems soon. electronics are not fond of heat. it is looking a bit fuzzy in their. you are supost to blow the boards and power supply out every 6 months to a year.... :)
It took me a minute to figure out what the picture was of.:) It's not a sight I see everyday.
